An exceptional George III mahogany card table, the well figured fold over top with a fine reeded edge of exaggerated shaped form with re-entrant corners, revealing a baize lined playing surface with crossbanding echoing the shape of the top, the frieze below with a central oak lined drawer with original gilded brass rococco swan neck handle; flanked either side with exaggerated double serpentine and re-entrant corners, the frieze finishing with a gadroon moulding with a carved central flowerhead; raised on well shaped cabriole legs, intricately carved with c-scroll, acanthus and foliate design, terminating in bold ball and claw feet. A very fine quality table of unusual design and retaining an excellent colour and patination.
