A fine George III Hepplewhite mahogany serpentine dressing chest of drawers; in exceptional well figured mahogany; the well figured top with an ogee moulded edge above the fitted top drawer having compartments, two with hinged lids and remaining with removable lids. Above two further graduating drawers; all with extremely well figured book matched veneers with cock beaded edges and retaining original brass swan neck handles. Flanked by unusual herringbone inlaid canted corners, the base having a slender thumb nail moulding raised on original Hepplewhite pattern square tapering legs having ebony inlaid flutes terminating with block feet. These stylish legs are rare to find on a serpentine chest. A well drawn piece of furniture with a good strong sweep to the serpentine.
