Exceptional Regency mahogany side table / serving table; of fantastic stylish form in the manner of George Smith; excellent quality in a superb grade of figured mahogany. The exceptionally well figured mahogany rectangular top having a panelled upstand flanked by carved scrolled brackets. The figured mahogany frieze of inverted breakfront form raised on exuberantly scrolled supports (very unusual twin form design); carved with trailing acanthus leaves and roundels to either side; terminating in bold carved lion paw feet with gadrooned collars; the flat pilaster rear supports in figured bookmatched veneers raised on the shallow rectangular plinths. Outstanding colour.
