19th century Gothic oak Champagne or Wine Cooler Table; this very unusual table was almost certainly made as a wine or champagne tasting table for a Gothic influenced French chateaux.  The rectangular top with a moulded edge and a central lift out panel with a small brass, handle to reveal the four lead bottle compartments with a small central aperture for filling with iced water, with a tap to the underside to drain.  The body incorporating 16 curved apertures with arched facades around all four sides, for holding glasses, with a moulded panel below and flanked either end by a narrow gothic panel.  Raised on a bold rectangular pedestal with moulded fluted corners on a platform base with projecting square corners and a fine moulded edge, concealing the original large steel castors.
