A good Regency simulated faux calamander bookcase of small proportions with unusual original painted finish; the moulded cornice with a central gilt bronze classical mount with rosettes to either side above a pair of long glazed doors flanked by stylish turned and flared columns with gilt brass collars. The base with projecting front corners and two short drawers being oak lined and retaining original brass knob handles; above a pair of glazed doors flanked by similar columns to the top. Raised on slender toupe feet. The interior with adjustable shelves and painted in faux calamander.
Note:The bookcase constructed in mahogany and birch, a sign of quality, as opposed to lesser quality pine.
