Stylish Regency pair of burr elm and elm side chairs in the manner of George Smith, with Grecian influences; the inset top rail with a carved acanthus cresting above the burr elm veneered panel, edged with a reeded mould and carved flower heads.  The centre rail finely carved with scroll work and foliate decoration.  The upright scrolled back supports with reeding and terminating at the seat with carved stylised leaves, having moulded and scroll work decoration to the sides.  The curved front seat rail with a burr elm veneered panel, raised on angled sabre legs, headed with protruding carved scrolls repeating the stylised leaf carving.  The rear legs echoing the panelled sides of the rest of the frame.  The drop in seats newly upholstered in dark green silk velvet.
