Good Regency painted and parcel gilt elbow chair of shapely form and retaining its original painted decoration; the top rail painted with a pair of cornucopia above an oval tablet painted with Grisaille scene of playfull putti with a goat. The scrolled arms raised on a caned seat with gilt trailing foliage to the front rail; raised on exaggerated sabre legs with chamfered tops and gilt collars. The underside of the front rail stamped "SG". In good, original 'Country House' condition - the paint is stable with some distressing commensurate of age and use.
