A very rare George II laburnum small chest of drawers; of very unusual form and lovely original condition; the well figured rectangular top with mahogany crossbanding having a thumbnail moulded edge above an unusual cavetto moulding, incorporating the brushing slide.  The top drawer being false (to accommodate the side drawers) above the three long true drawers crossbanded in mahogany with cockbeaded edges.  All fully oak lined and retaining original brass handles and escutcheons.  The chest having an unusual and charming feature of the side drawers, above the original brass carrying handles.  Raised on original, shaped bracket feet.  Lovely warm colour with a good patination having working locks with two keys.
