Late C19th Howard and Sons London Sofa / Settee known as the 'Chaplin' model; the back with built-in feather cushions and the lower arms with sewn in 'saddle bag' cushions, adding to the comfort; the seats with 2 large loose feather cushions; raised on mahogany square tapering legs. Stamped 'Howard & Sons Ltd Berners St.' with serial numbers. Retaining the original brass castors stamped 'Howard & Sons London'. The underside support rail with the remains of the original Howard paper label. Good scale for a smaller room, whilst still retaining great Howard proportions and comfort.
