Impressive large C19th oil painting of a racehorse; "Simnel the Celebrated Thoroughbred" by H C Evans; the oil on canvas of the racehorse in a prominent stance, his bridle and lead rope being held by his well dressed proud owner standing in a park land setting with his stone manor house in the background. Signed and dated bottom left corner H C Evans 1896. Inscribed to the back "Simnel the Celebrated Thoroughbred". Housed in its original gilt slip with a later simple narrow gilt frame.
