A good rare, George II mahogany windsor type armchair of very unusual form; the curved back with a raised shaped backrest on outwardly scrolled arms above the central pierced splat and turned spindle supports (the spindles unusually made of padouk presumably for strength). The well figured solid mahogany saddle seat of great shape, raised on turned balluster legs of unusual design with flared feet; joined by traditional turned 'H' stretchers. Good colour and patina, very good original condition with a small old crack in the backrest which is very stable.
