Impressive C19th large bronze sculpture of Venus Bathing "Venus au Bain" after Etienne-Maurice Falconet (1716-1791); of good large scale and well cast with fine detail and excellent patina. Venus with her hair tied up looking down and dipping her toe into the waters; her right hand holding a drape covering her modesty; her left hand resting on a tree trunk with reeds, foliage and shells to the base; raised on an integral square plinth. The excellent patina emphasises her movement and curves.
