C19th Italian painted and parcel gilt settee with original cream paint and gilt of an unusual design and neat proportions; the low back having four upholstered pads housed in a moulded frame with gilt moulded edges, above the swept arms on scroll supports, leading to the upholstered padded seat, having a shallow seat frame, raised on unusual swept square tapering legs with fluted decoration. The upholstery stripped back to the calico ready for recovering. The proportions and design of the low back suitable for under a window or a bedroom.
